Your Committee on Finance to which was referred :
,,Comm. 1511: EXTERNAL AUDIT REPORT - FISCAL YEAR ENDING
JUNE 30, 1979
From Legislative Auditor Harry Takahashi dated March 2$,
19$0 submitting the final external audit report of the
County of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30,
1979, as submitted by the certified public accounting
firm, Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co . , which completes
the requirements of Section 10-13, Hawaii County
Charter. Also submits an "Overview" of the report
by the State Legislative Auditor, Mr. Clinton Tanimura.
Based upon the departmental responses to the findings
and recommendations and the "Overview", informs their
office, with the Committee'sconcurrence, will initiate
a follow-up program in June in order to substantiate
that corrective actions have been implemented ;
recommends Council place on file, the external audit report of the County
of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1979, as submitted by Peat,
Marwick, Mitchell & Company, and the "Overview" of this report by the
State Legislative Auditor.
Further recommends the Legislative Auditor initiate a follow-up program
in June to substantiate that corrective actions have been implemented by
the departments.
