County Council Hilo, Hawaii Your Committee on Finance to which was. referred : Comm. 1557: FUNDS FOR SECURITY AT PANAEWA ZOO (Res. 619) From Director of Finance Stanley A. Nakamae dated May 12, 1980 informing the County must provide security measures that are acceptable to the U.- S . Department of Agriculture in order to continue its permit as an accredited exhibitor and requests approval to transfer funds to implement the following at the Panaewa Zoo : (1) Hire a security service firm until such time that a resident caretaker cottage can be moved to the zoo site from Hale Nani . (2) Erect a perimeter fence to provide additional security for the tigers and other animals in the zoo . This cost item may require an addition to the CIP; recommends Council approve and adopt Resolution 619 to transfer $25,000 from the Unemployment Compensation account to the Panaewa Zoo OCE account to provide security measures at the zoo .
