Your Committee on Finance to which was referred :
Comm. 122$.3 : CIVIL NO. 5278, KUAHIWINUI VS . COUNTY OF HAWAII, ET AL
From Corporation Counsel Stephen G. Bess dated
September 3, 19$0 submitting copy of a letter from
Stanley H. Roehrig, Attorney for Gary Kuahiwinui
and parents, offering a settlement in the subject
case . Informs as he has indicated to Mr. Roehrig
previously, the County of Hawaii must have an
opportunity to review the trial transcript of
Civil No . 5278 before considering any offer of
settlement ; therefore, recommends that Mr. Roehrig 's
offer of August 2$, 19$0 be rejected ;
recommends Council accept the recommendation of Corporation Counsel
and reject Mr. Stanley H. Roehrig 's offer of August 2$, 19$0 to settle
the subject case .
