Your Committee on Finance to which was referred :

&Comm. 1709 : STATE GRANTS RECEIVABLE FOR OFFICE OF PROSECUTING
(Bill 693 ) ATTORNEY
From Mayor Herbert T. Matayoshi dated October 29,
19$0 informing Governor George Ariyoshi is providing
$135, 941 in State assistance to Hawaii County in its
fight against organized crime. These funds will pay.
for witness expenses and to hire two deputy prosecuting
attorneys for the 19$0-$1 fiscal year.
Informs, of the State 's share, the Attorney General
will retain and disburse 5100,000 and the County will
receive and disburse 335, 941; and submits a bill to
appropriate County's share of $34, 509 and State funds
of 535,941. Further informs a. similar amount will
be requested by the State and County administrations
for the 1981-82 fiscal year;
recommends Council approve and adopt Bill 693 on first reading .
