REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: March 7, 2017 Re: Comm. No. 127/Res. No. 89-17 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 11:15 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 89-17 reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 89-17, transmitted by Finance Director Collins Tomei, via Communication <br /> No. 127 dated February 16, 2017, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an intergovernmental <br /> agreement with the State Department of Transportation. <br /> This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement to acquire four 14-passenger <br /> vans, with a cost-match of 20 percent to be provided by the County. The vans would be used by <br /> the Department of Parks and Recreation's Elderly Activities Coordinated Services section to <br /> provide transportation for senior citizens over 60 years old and those with disabilities. <br /> Elderly Activities Operations Director Roann Okamura and Assistant Director Coram Kitaoka <br /> appeared before the Finance Committee for questions. Ms. Okamura stated that the total cost for <br /> the four 14-passenger vans is $52,000.
