COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 120 17 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO CAMP AGAPE HAWAII TO ASSIST WITH TUITION FOR HAWAII ISLAND CHILDREN TO ATTEND THE 2017 CAMP AGAPE. WHEREAS, Camp Agape Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3) local nonprofit whose purpose is to provide a safe,nurturing environment in which children can spend time with other children who have experienced the pain, isolation, and sadness associated with parental incarceration; and WHEREAS, Camp Agape is a four day camp held on Hawai`i Island for children whose parent(s) are incarcerated or transitioning out of incarceration within the past year; and WHEREAS, Camp Agape Hawai`i is requesting funds to assist with tuition, which includes housing,meals, transportation, activities, and t-shirts for the four day camp,that will be held on June 9, 2017 through June 12, 2017; and WHEREAS,the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney believes in the resiliency of children to overcome hardships and emotional distress, and supports efforts such as Camp Agape; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Camp Agape Hawai`i to assist with tuition for Hawai`i Island children. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Council hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
