.0,J.• <br /> `'v o NSW,•.'. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •(iN '''-' <br /> _�., /I• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 121 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO CAMP AGAPE <br /> HAWAII TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE 2017 CAMP <br /> AGAPE—BIG ISLAND. <br /> WHEREAS, Camp Agape Hawai`i is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose purpose <br /> is to provide charitable services to children of the incarcerated, including camps that provide <br /> religious, educational, and recreational programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 2017 Camp Agape—Big Island is a four-day camp offered to the <br /> children of incarcerated adults for the purpose of providing a safe and nurturing environment, <br /> designed to empower and to create positive paths in life to grow into healthy, happy members of <br /> the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney and more than 30 organizations, <br /> businesses, and individuals support the efforts of Camp Agape—Big Island to encourage <br /> resiliency in children to overcome the emotional distress of having an incarcerated parent, and <br /> hardships caused by circumstances that led to incarceration; and <br /> WHEREAS, Camp Agape Hawai`i is requesting funds to assist with the costs for meals, <br /> transportation, activities, t-shirts, and other expenses associated with the 2017 Camp Agape— <br /> Big Island, scheduled to take place from June 9 through 12, 2017; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Camp Agape Hawai`i to assist with expenses . <br /> associated with the 2017 Camp Agape—Big Island. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br /> i• i <br />
