RESOLUTION NO. 122 17
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ACQUIRE A PASSENGER VAN FOR THE
DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION,ELDERLY ACTIVITIES DIVISION.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Elderly Activities Division,
through its Coordinated Services for the Elderly program,provides essential transportation needs
to senior citizens and those with disabilities; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Resolution No. 89-17,the Department of Parks and Recreation
has entered into an agreement with the State of Hawai`i Department of Transportation to acquire
four, 14-passenger vans with the requirement that the County of Hawai`i provide funds for
twenty percent of the total cost of the four vans; and
WHEREAS,the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to help defray
the County's share of costs needed to acquire one of the four 14-passenger van; and
WHEREAS, the County will utilize these vans to provide the essential medical,
recreational, and other transportation needs for senior citizens over the age of 60 and those with
disabilities in the North and South Kona area, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation to help defray the County's share of costs to acquire a 14-passenger van for
the Elderly Activities Division.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the folloing amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
