SUBJECT: PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO BILL NO. 25: AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS OF
THE COUNTY OF HAWAII IN A PRINCIPAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
S4,105,000 FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING A PORTION OF THE COSTS
OF AWATER DEPARTMENT PROJECT REFERRED TO AS THE
PAPAIKOU TRANSIPE& G. I. (GALVANIZED IRON) PIPELINE
REPLACEMENT; FIXING THE FORM, DENOMINATIONS, AND CERTAIN
OTHER DETAILS OF SUCH BONDS AND PROVIDING FOR THE SALE
THEREOF; AND AUTHORIZING THE TAKING OF OTHER ACTIONS
RELATING TO THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF TILE BONDS.
The purpose of the following proposed amendment to Bill No. 25 is to delete the word transit in
Section 1, subsection (a) and replace it with the correct term"Transite". Section 1 of Bill No. 25
is amended by amending subsection(a) to read as follows:
"(a) The Department of Water Supply (the"Water Department")
of the County of Hawai'i (the "County")has determined to undertake a
waterline improvement project referred to as the Papaikou [Transit] Transite
and G. I. (Galvanized Iron)Pipeline Replacement in Papaikou,County of
Hawaii (the"Project")."
Material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken and material to be added is underscored. Due to
the limited scope of this proposed amendment, a draft copy of Bill No. 25 is not attached.
Please place this communication on the Council agenda scheduled for April 5,2017 when Bill
No. 25 will be heard. Mahalo a nui loa.
