RESOLUTION NO. 141 17
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PURCHASE FOUR MINI BASKETBALL HOOPS
FOR THE REPRESENTATIVE ROBERT N. HERKES GYMNASIUM AND SHELTER.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation provides introductory instruction
and organized recreational activities, such as leagues and camps,at the Representative Robert N.
Herkes Gymnasium and Shelter;and
WHEREAS, basketball is a year-round sport at the Representative Robert N. I lerkes
Gymnasium and Shelter, and mini basketball hoops that are portable and adjustable in height are
needed so that students who are eight years old and under can learn the fundamental skills of
playing basketball; and
WHEREAS. the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to purchase
four mini basketball hoops that are portable and adjustable in height for the Representative
Robert N. Herkes Gymnasium and Shelter; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation to purchase four mini basketball hoops for the Representative Robert N.
Herkes Gymnasium and Shelter.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
