RESOLUTION NO. 146 17
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION'S EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS AND TRAINING CLINICS.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Recreation Division plans,
conducts, arranges, and promotes organized recreation and provides introductory instruction at
various Hawai`i County recreation centers and facilities: and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Division recognizes that children participating in organized
sports tend to achieve higher results in school, develop excellent interpersonal skills, and lead
healthier lives; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Division has identified the need for funds to provide
educational workshops and training clinics for athletes, parents, coaches, officials,and
volunteers throughout I Iawai`i County; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Division is requesting funds to cover the cost of workbooks
and training material in order to conduct these educational workshops and clinics and to support
and encourage youth participation in organized sports; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation, Recreation Division, for expenses associated with educational workshops
and training clinics
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
