RESOLUTION NO. 14 1'
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO CAMP AGAPE
HAWAII TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE 2017 CAMP
AGAPE HAWAII.
WHEREAS, Camp Agape Hawai`i is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose purpose
is to provide charitable services to children of the incarcerated, including camps that provide
religious, educational, and recreational programs; and
WHEREAS, 2017 Camp Agape Hawai`i is a four-day camp with a series of activities
and events for our Hawai`i Island youth that have been affected by parental incarceration; and
WHEREAS, Camp Agape Hawai`i is requesting funds to cover expenses for housing,
meals, transportation, activities, and t-shirts for the four-day camp, that will be held on June 9,
2017 through June 12, 2017; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Prosecuting Attorney fully supports the prevention of juvenile
delinquency through intervention initiatives and believes in the resiliency of youth to overcome
hardship and emotional distress; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, •
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Camp Agape Hawai`i to assist with expenses related
to the 2017 Camp Agape Hawai`i.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
