These funds will be used to provide a grant to Catholic Charities of Ilawai'i for its West Hawaii Faith-Based Summit to end homelessness. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this 55,000 to the Office of Housing and Community Development's (OFICD's) Catholic Charities of I Iawai'i account. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): Concurrent resolution is in process to request funding from Clerk Council Services-Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 to the Office of Housing and Community Development to provide a pass-through grant to Catholic Charities of Hawai'i for its 2017 West Hawaii Faith-Based Summit to end homelessness. We are requesting these funds to be appropriated in the Housing Fund. Since there is a concurrent resolution to request funding transfer to the Office of Housing Fund, the OHCD would like to request a waiver from the Finance Committee and have this bill heard at the Council Meeting scheduled for April 19, 2017.
