Aloha Hawai'i County Council Members,
I am asking you to support Council Resolution 109-17. We have been living in a short-sighted and non-sustainable way
for too long.
Unless we alter our lifestyles and consumption patterns we will face societal collapse due to resource limitation and
pollution/climate change.We must adopt simpler and less resource-intensive ways of building homes and we must
become compulsive recyclers, including recycling our wastes into fertilizers in order that we can feed ourselves
indefinitely. We may need to become food self-reliant so we'd best prepare for that possibility. Please give the state
legislature the impetus to stop making obstacles to self-sufficiency and to instead facilitate the transition.
