Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 130-17, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 130-17, transmitted by Finance Director Collins Tomei, via Communication
No. 183 dated March 16, 2017, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more
than one fiscal year for a multi-year lease of real property.
This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a two-year lease agreement with Maui
Varieties Investments, Inc.,'at a monthly cost of$1,796.24. The Hawai`i Fire Department
utilizes the premises located at 95-1163 Ka`alaiki Road for its Na`alehu Emergency Medical
Services (EMS) Station. The agreement includes a two-year renewal option.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Pursuant to Section 10-11 of the Hawaii County Charter, the Mayor of the County of Hawai`i is
authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, a two (2) year lease agreement for the Na`alehu
EMS Station located at 95-1163 Ka`alaiki Road,Na`alehu, Hawaii.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 130-17,
and recommends its adoption.
