CALL TO The regular meeting of the Committee on Governmental Relations and Economic
ORDER: Development was called to order at 10:45 a.m., in the Council Chambers, Hilo, by
Dru Mamo Kanuha, Chair.

STATEMENTS The Chair directed the Committee to proceed to the next order of business,

AGENDA ITEMS: (There were none.)
CHR KANUHA: We do have a special announcement here. We have members
from the AAUW, which is the American Association of University Women here
to give a special announcement, and I thank Ms. O'Hara for bringing this topic
up. And I think it was appropriate to bring it up in this committee. And
Ms. O'Hara, if you could just announce what's going on today.
MS. O'HARA: Okay. Today is Equal Pay Day and that's nationally and our
Governor has signed a proclamation making it a day here in the State. And as of
this morning, our Mayor has also signed a proclamation making this Equal Pay
Day for the County of Hawaii. I'm really thankful to Elizabeth Hansen from the
AAUW for being here today. She just picked up the certificate from the Mayor's
Office, and I also thank Rose Bautista for making all this happen in such short
order. And Elizabeth, if you don't mind coming forward and perhaps reading the
proclamation for us so we yes, you'll have to activate one of those microphones
and you can sit down if you'd like.

proclamation, signed by the Mayor, to proclaim that April 4, 2017 is
Equal Pay Day.)
MS. O'HARA: Thank you, Elizabeth, really appreciate it.

CHR KANUHA: Thank you, everyone, we're now out of recess. Mahalo for

Filed Seconded by Ms. David and carried by the following
voice vote.

the meeting. Seconded by Ms. Eoff and carried by the following voice vote:
