-"of!.'OFti '• . <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII ._ ''=�' !�#, STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 166 7 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO CATHOLIC <br /> CHARITIES HAWAII FOR ITS 2017 WEST HAWAII FAITH-BASED SUMMIT TO <br /> END FAMILY HOMELESSNESS. <br /> WHEREAS, Catholic Charities Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization that was <br /> chartered in 1947 to expand upon the work begun by the Catholic Women's Aid Society in 1858; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Catholic Charities Hawai`i provides a wide range of social services through <br /> programs and advocacy efforts and serves all people, especially those with the greatest need, <br /> regardless of faith and culture; and <br /> WHEREAS, Catholic Charities Hawai`i will hold its 2017 West Hawai`i Faith-Based <br /> Summit to End Family Homelessness on September 22, 2017, at the Old Airport Pavilion in <br /> Kona; and <br /> WHEREAS,the 2017 West Hawai`i Faith-Based Summit to End Family Homelessness <br /> is a gathering of the faith-based community with the nonprofit sector to address family <br /> homelessness; and <br /> WHEREAS, summit attendees will receive valuable information on the state of family <br /> homelessness, opportunities to provide support, and connection to a network of available <br /> resources; and <br /> WHEREAS, Catholic Charities Hawai`i is requesting financial assistance for food, audio <br /> and visual systems, and event shirts; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated the Office of Housing and <br /> Community Development to provide a grant to Catholic Charities Hawai`i for expenses relating <br /> to its 2017 West Hawai`i Faith-Based Summit To End Family Homelessness. <br />
