Dear Chairwoman Poindexter and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Thomas Raffipiy of District 5 to the Hawai'i County
East Hawaii Planning Commission. (At Large - Puna). Mr. Raffipiy is currently
employed as a Project Manager and Safely Officer for T & T.Electric and a U.S. Army
Reservist. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from University of
Hawai'i at Hilo and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy.
Mr. Raffipiy is a Command Sergeant Major, 322nd Civil Affairs Brigade, 9th Mission I
Support Command, USPACOM (US Pacific Command).
Mr. Raffipiy is an active member of our community and is a board member of both the
Hawai'i island Contractor's Association and Micronesian United Big Island.
He has resided in Hawai'i for over 30 years.
Mr. Raffipiy is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, he will serve a term
ending December 31, 2021.
