Subject: counsel agenda for Kailua-Kona
I am interested in giving testimony concerning the Hope Services shelter in Kona
Why?
At Hope Services meth is as prevalent as MRSA, the superbug.
Drug test both residents and staff for meth. Get rid of these negative influences. A staff member may be the source.
Anti-biotic resistant MRSA. The CDC calls it a superbug. When someone has it at the hospital they are isolated.
There is at least one individual at the Kailua shelter who openly uses the kitchen and computer keyboards.
He told me of his MRSA infection after shaking my hand. There is no attempt to isolate the contagion.
Both of these issues create a environment that is not conducive to the rehabilitation of Hawaii's homeless.
