No. 192/Bill No. 26 PLACE: Council Chambers Kailua-Kona, Hawaii TIME: 2:30 p.m. Council Chair and Members Hawaii County Council Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 26, reports as follows: Bill No. 26, transmitted by Finance Director Collins Tomei, via Communication No. 192 dated March 30, 2017, adopts a pay plan for persons employed by the County other than those whose pay is otherwise provided for, designates payroll periods, pay days, prescribes requirements with respect to official fidelity bonds, and repeals Ordinance No. 16-65 and all amendments thereto, said ordinance to be known as the Salary Ordinance of 2017. This bill establishes rates of compensation for appointed employees in the Legislative Branch and the Office of Housing and Community Development, the County Physician, and Student Helpers and Senior Community Services Aids for various County agencies. This bill also incorporates the scheduled increase to minimum wage effective January 1, 2018, into the proposed Salary Ordinance of 2017. There was no discussion on this measure. Pursuant to Article III, Section 3-13 of the Hawaii County Charter, interim amendments to the ordinance establishing the pay plan for the county may be by resolution of the Council provided a revised salary ordinance is enacted at least once annually.
