Aloha Maile and Committee Members,
Unfortunately '0 Ka'u Kakou could not attend the Committee meeting tomorrow as Board
members are either off-island or have other commitments. However, they asked me to provide
these attached letters as an expression of our gratitude for your continued support of our many

Re: Ka'u Coffee Trail Run Grant Request
Dear Committee Members:
Thank you for the opportunity to apply for 2017-2018 Non-Profit Grant monies. All funds received
go directly into the community as our organization is totally volunteer driven. The Coffee Trail
Run promotes physical activity in the local community and we encourage families to participate
together. Also, the trail run has become an international event, thus supporting the local economy.
Throughout the year '0 Ka'u Kakou will actively explore other grant sources and conduct
fundraising activities. Your support enables us to continue to provide many services to the people
of Ka'u.

Re: Family Fun Fest Grant Request
Dear Committee Members:
Thank you for the opportunity to apply for 2017-2018 Non-Profit Grant monies. All funds received
go directly into the community as our organization is totally volunteer driven. Through the Family
Fun Fest '0 Ka'u Kakou is able to provide a family oriented event in an area that has few
opportunities to bring keiki, kupuna, and families together.
Throughout the year '0 Ka'u Kakou will actively explore other grant sources and conduct
fundraising activities. Your support enables us to continue to provide many services to the people
of Ka'u.

Re: Punalu'u Annual Fishing Tournament Grant Request
Dear Committee Members:
Thank you for the opportunity to apply for 2017-2018 Non-Profit Grant monies. All funds received
go directly into the community as our organization is totally volunteer driven. The Fishing
Tournament is one of'0 Ka'u Kakou's major family oriented projects, bringing together children
of all ages. Our last event had 463 participants. Plus, children learn the art of shore-line fishing, a
life-long skill.
Throughout the year '0 Ka'u Kakou will actively explore other grant sources and conduct
fundraising activities. Your support enables us to continue to provide many services to the people
of Ka'u.
