RESOLUTION NO. 188 1-7
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A
LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR
FOR A MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH MARSHALL & SWIFT FOR
THE RENEWAL OF SOFTWARE LICENSES AND USE OF DATA FOR
VALUING REAL PROPERTY TO BE USED BY THE FINANCE
DEPARTMENT'S REAL PROPERTY TAX DIVISION
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract,
lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later
fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii Finance Department's Real Property Tax
Division currently uses this proprietary software from Marshall & Swift, along with the
City and County of Honolulu, the County of Maui and the County of Kauai for the
purpose of valuing real property in Hawaii County for Ad Valorem taxation purposes;
and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a five (5) year agreement
with Marshall & Swift in order to its ability to use the aforementioned software to
update our cost tables on an annual basis; and
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into multi-year
agreement with Marshall & Swift for the software indicated above.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the
agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii
shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor and the Finance
Department.
