STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ••,14.i4 MF.�1. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 194 .7 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOLUALOA <br /> FOUNDATION FOR ARTS & CULTURE TO ASSIST WITH THE "HAPPILY EVER <br /> AFTER-SCHOOL" PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, Holualoa Foundation for Arts & Culture (dba Donkey Mill Art Center- <br /> DMAC) a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides art education and experiences to people <br /> of all ages; that includes hands-on classes, exhibitions, and events of contemporary visual arts, <br /> crafts and culture; and <br /> WHEREAS, DMAC has launched a new program titled"Happily Ever After-School", <br /> which will take its outreach directly into local neighborhoods to reach more children— <br /> particularly in the crucial after-school hours, when many are unsupervised and without anything <br /> constructive to do; and <br /> WHEREAS, Holualoa Foundation for Arts & Culture is seeking funds to equip an art <br /> van with art supplies like paper, crayons, paint, paintbrushes, and other materials to enhance the <br /> DMAC Happily Ever After-School program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports community events that provide <br /> a safe, secure, alcohol-free and drug-free places for children to have activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Holualoa Foundation for Arts & Culture to support Donkey <br /> Mill Art Center's "Happily Ever After-School"program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
