RESOLUTION NO. 198 1
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
' AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
• DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO SUPPORT ISLAND-WIDE TRAININGS FOR
THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS,the Hawai`i County Police Department will procure and provide island-
wide trainings for police officers and departmental personnel; and
WHEREAS,the trainings will be specific to civil rights and community relations, with a
focus on public interactions, mitigating safety issues, and reducing liability; and
WHEREAS, the actual dates are still pending, however, the trainings will be completed
by June 30, 2017; and
WHEREAS,the Police Department is requesting funds to procure a trainer to provide
island-wide trainings for police officers and departmental personnel; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Police Department
to support island-wide trainings for police officers and departmental personnel.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief $7,000
CREDITED TO:
010.201.5215.05 Police Department $7,000

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Chief of Police and the Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
