COUNTY OF HAWAII {_ �'' /�•- STATE OF HAWAII \i.ns I \'1TE'�F.H.,rl RESOLUTION NO. 199 17 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION TO SUPPORT THE 35TH ANNUAL KUPUNA HULA FESTIVAL. WHEREAS, the Kupuna Hula Festival is a cultural project coordinated by the County of Hawai`i, Department of Parks &Recreation, Elderly Activities Division Special Programs; and WHEREAS,the Kupuna Hula Festival is a two-day Hula dance competition that highlights some of Hawai`i Island's most talented and experienced dancers over the age of 55 years, as well as senior dancers from all over the world; and WHEREAS,the Kupuna Hula Festival is the longest running Kupuna Hula Festival in • the world and will celebrate its 35th anniversary on September 13 and 14, 2017, at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa; and WHEREAS,the Department of Parks & Recreation, Elderly Activities Division Special Programs is seeking funds to purchase walkie talkies and to replace the carpet covering for the stage, which will be used for many Elderly Activities Division events to ensure safety for all participants; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks & Recreation, Elderly Activities Division Special Programs to support the 35th Annual Kupuna Hula Festival. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $5,000 OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief $5,000 CREDITED TO: 010.500.5519.92 Department of Parks &Recreation $5,000 EAD Special Programs OCE 341 Misc. Charges (35th Annual Kupuna Hula Festival)
