Dear Chairwoman Poindexter and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Arnold Rabin of District 6 to the Hawai'i County's
Kona Community Development Plan Action Committee. Mr. Rabin is a real estate
Broker and has been a resident to Hawai'i for approximately 47 years. He attended the
University of Chicago for 3 years as well as the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts.
Mr. Rabin states that he has been interested in community based management for over
15 years and organized the first South Kona Regional Planning Team which was an
effort to create organized and well-planned communities.
Mr. Rabin is an active member of our island community especially with the Association
of Realtors and has served as a past president of the Hononaunau PTSA. He is also
the founder of the Society for Kona's Education and Arts (SKEA), a non-profit agency
that was established in 1981, dedicated to enhancing the lives of its community
members through art, culture, and educational opportunities for people of all ages.
Mr. Rabin states she is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, he will serve to
fill an unfilled term ending June 30, 2019.
