Dear Chairwoman Poindexter and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Janice Palma-Glennie of District 7 to Hawai'i County's
Kona Community Development Plan Action Committee. Ms. Palma-Glennie is a
landscape designer and the owner of Keauhou Gardens and Irrigation landscape
nursery. She has been a resident of Hawai'i for the past 37 years. Ms. Palma-Glennie
holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Agriculture from the University of Arizona.
Ms. Palma-Glennie was one of the community members who was involved with the
Kona CDP from its inception, having served on the original Steering Committee and
Action Committee. She continues to be an active participant and regularly attends the
Kona CDP Action Committee meetings as a community member.
Ms. Palma-Glennie is an active member of our island community and has volunteered in
numerous organization including: Hui He 'enalu o Kona, Sierra Club Moku Loa Group,
Protect Kohanaiki Ohana and Surfrider Foundation Kona Kai Ea chapter.
.Ms. Palma-Glennie states she is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, she
will serve to fill a term ending May 30, 2020.
