/0.1,5;° <br /> 0.1, ; ofM..', <br /> • 0.•` . <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII +� �'' /_•4 STATE OF HAWAII <br /> I. ,TE.OF. •4 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 202 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO WATERS OF LIFE <br /> NEW CENTURY PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES <br /> • ASSOCIATED WITH ITS AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, the Waters of Life New Century Public Charter School, also known as Na <br /> Wai Ola Public Charter School, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides education in a <br /> nurturing environment and strives for individual academic success with Hawaiian culture and <br /> values as its guiding principle; and <br /> WHEREAS,Na Wai Ola Public Charter School, located in Mountain View, currently <br /> serves 185 students (73% are Native Hawaiian) from both upper and lower Puna, and over 80% <br /> of the students come from low-income households; and <br /> WHEREAS,Na Wai Ola Public Charter School provides affordable, safe, and reliable <br /> after-school care for its students; and <br /> WHEREAS,Na Wai Ola Public Charter School is requesting funds for supplies and staff <br /> supervision for its after-school program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports this after-school program, <br /> because it provides supervision and educational opportunites for students in an alcohol-free <br /> venue; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Waters of Life New Century Public Charter School, also <br /> known as Na Wai Ola Public Charter School, to assist with expenses associated with after-school <br /> care for its students. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
