Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 246, reports as
follows:
Communication No. 246, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated April 11, 2017, nominates
Mr. Eric Scicchitano of Council District 4 to the Hawai`i County Water Board.
Mr. Scicchitano has lived in Hawai`i for six years and is not affiliated with any political party.
If confirmed, he will serve a term ending December 31, 2021.
Ms. Rose Bautista, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kim, introduced Nominee Scicchitano.
Mr. Scicchitano appeared in person for this nomination.
Several Council Members commented in favor of Mr. Scicchitano. The vote was then taken with
all Council Members voting"aye." Chair Eoff stated that Mr. Scicchitano did not need to
appear at the Council meeting on May 17, 2017, for confirmation of his appointment.
Pursuant to Section 8-2 of the Hawai`i County Charter, the Mayor shall appoint with the
approval of council, a resident of each council district to serve on the County of Hawai`i Water
Board.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication
No. 246, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of Eric Scicchitano to the Hawai`i
County Water Board.
