This bill proposes to add additional tiers of tax exemption based on age. Specifically, it would add two additional tiers to the current exemption amounts of: Age of Taxpayer Exemption Amount • 60 years of age or over but not 70 year of age or over $80,000 • 70 years of age or over $100,000 to become: • 60 years of age or over but not 70 year of age or over $80,000 • 70 years of age or over but not 75 years of age or over $100,000 • 75 years of age or over but not 80 years of age or over $110,000 • 80 years of age or over $120,000 This bill seeks to relieve the elderly of some of their economic burden by creating the additional exemption tiers indicated above.
