Re: Resolution for multi-year agreement
The Police Department seeks to enter into a sixth amended lease agreement for a four-
year extension of the current agreement to utilize the premises for a Police warehouse at
Shipman Industrial.
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the County to enter into a four-year, multi-year lease
agreement with Geo Investment Company, Inc., for this real property identified by Tax
Map Key (3) 1-6-146:032.

A. REQUEST:
Prepare County Council submittal authorizing the.County of Hawaii Police Department to enter into a Sixth
Amended Lease for a four year extension to utilize the premises for the Police warehouse at Shipman
Industrial.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The County of Hawaii Police Department currently utilizes the premises consisting of 12,000 square feet
owned by Geo Investment Company, Inc., identified as a portion of tax map key(3) 1-6-146:032, for a Police
warehouse. The proposed amendment will be for a four year period from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2021 with
an option for an additional four years.

FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR

POLICE DEPARTMENT WAREHOUSE
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
