FY 2017-18 Operating Budget
Thanks you for this opportunity to comment on the proposed FY 2017-18 Operating Budget.
As a 20-year"upper" Puna resident, I support the comments made by Judi Houle, Puna Neighborhood Watch Coordinator
and Hawaiian Neighborhood Watch Coordinator. I especially support the comments related to improving services to Puna
in all areas related to public health and safety, including aspects of physical and digital connectivity improving access to
jobs, education, and health care services.
Puna residents are increasingly mobilizing to aid various County departments in carrying out their responsibilities.
Neighborhood Watch leaders and voluneers, ham and CB radio operators, CERTS volunteers, and other subdivision
groups will be greatly aided if the suggestions of Judi and other Puna community leaders are incorporated.
We acknowledge and appreciate the current efforts of our Council representatives to do whatever they can to improve the
quality of services in Puna and to facilitate the contributions of residents promoting connectivity.
