Home My WebLink AboutORD 1997-148 1996-1998 • • COUNTY OF HAWAII ::::::. :STATE OF HAWAII BILL NO. 149 ORDINANCE NO. 97 148 AN ORDINANCE OFFICIALLY NAMING THE PUNALU'U BLACK SAND BEACH PARK. • BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1.. Findings and Purpose. In 1953 the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Estate granted to the County of Hawaii, Parks and Recreation Division a lease of approximately 8.887 acres of land for the use of establishing a beach park in Punalu'u,Ka'u. The purpose of this ordinance, pursuant to Chapter.15, Article 8 of the Hawaii County Code(1983), is to officially name the park located at Tax Map Key 9-6-01:6,11 in Punalu'u, Ka'u the Punalu'u Black Sand Beach Park. SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, the-park at Punalu'u, Ka'u is hereby named the Punalu'u Black Sand Beach Park.., SECTION 3. In the event that any portion of this ordinance is declared., invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other parts of this ordinance. SECTION 4.. This ordinance shall take effect upon its.approval.
