SHORELINE AND MOUNTAIN ACCESS
From Douglas Meller, Secretary, Shoreline Protection
Alliance, dated November 28, 1976,_ questioning when
the Hawaii County Council intends to implement an
ordinance to require subdividers to provide parks in
accordance with Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 46-6
and also when the Hawaii County Council intends to
enact an ordinance to require subdividers to provide
shoreline and mountain access ' in accordance with
Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 46-6.5.

submittal date of the yearly progress report was
miscalculated; therefore, due date is May 19 , 1977.

No. 192: DOWNTOWN ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Copy of letter to Mayor Matayoshi from Tony Taniguchi,
President, Hilo Downtown Improvement Association,
dated February 26 , 1977, supporting the Mayor' s efforts
to obtain Block Grant funds from HUD to do a prototype
design of store fronts and sidewalks in the downtown
area. Along with this action, proposed that a downtown
advisory committee be set up on design of downtown to
preserve the character of the area.
