The following are the recommendations of the Committee on Planning which
were considered at its meeting of June 8, 19 77:
COMMUNICATIONS
No. 75 : DEDICATION DEEDS AND MORTGAGE RELEASES - KULAIMANO
PARK SITE
From Ernest A. Smith, Vice President and Manager,
Brewer Support Housing, Inc. , dated January 6 ,
1977 submitting deeds from Mauna Kea Sugar Company,
Inc. and Brewer Support Housing, Inc. , together with
mortgage releases on the Mauna Kea parcel conveying
the 23,487 acre Kulaimano Park site to the County of
Hawaii and asks consideration in accepting this site
without improvements as being sufficient for the entire
planned Kulaimano project, past, present and future,
for reasons , as listed.

No. 347 : MAUNA LOA LAND , INC. - ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORT
KALAHUI PUA' A, SOUTH KOHALA
Copy of letter to Mr. Nobuo Kitsuda, Vice President,
Mauna Loa Land, Inc. , from Planning Director Sidney
Fuke dated May 19 , 1977, acknowledging receipt of
the first annual report submitted on the resort devel-
opment at Kalahuipua' a, South Kohala. Informs that
the report adequately meets Condition "S" of
Ordinance 203 and that they have forwarded copies
of the report to the appropriate departments .

Family Residential - 10, 000 square foot (RS-10 ) zoned
district at Olaa Reservation Lots , Olaa, Puna.
Approve and recommend passage
of Bill 315 on first reading.
No. 373 : BURGESS , INC. REQUEST - PARKING REGULATION VARIANCE
From Kenny Young, President, Kona Coast Chamber of
Commerce, dated May 31, 1977, enclosing copy of letter
reflecting the stand of the Kona Coast Chamber of
Commerce with respect to the Burgess request for
variance of parking regulations , and requests that the
variance be denied.

d_ No. 374: PARK DEDICATION ORDINANCE
From Planning Committee Chairman Takashi Domingo
dated June 1, 1977, suggesting that the effective
date of the County park dedication ordinance be
deferred for three months or until the amendments
to the present ordinance are completed, whichever
is sooner; and that the members of the committee be
prepared to discuss whatever amendments , if any,
they would like to make to the ordinance.
Recommend effective date of
the Park Dedication Code be
deferred to October 1, 1977,
and recommend passage of
Bill 317 on first reading.
/No. 379 : BIG ISLAND PORK INDUSTRY
From John Farias , Jr. , Chairman, Board of Agriculture,
dated May 31, 1977, acknowledging receipt of Resolu-
tion No. 85 . Submits information on the pork industry
and informs that although the Department has no pork
marketing specialist, they will assist the island pork
industry with whatever capability they possess .
