From William M. Han, Chief Pastor and Chairman, Board
of Trustees , The Apostolic Faith Church, dated June 7,
1977, requesting that the County Council give their
application careful consideration and grant the
Trustees an appointment to appear personally before
the Council to answer questions and amplify their
statements .
Recommend the following:
( 1) Council sustain its previous
action to deny sign variance
request (C-130 & 130. 1/PC-8) ,
and
( 2) Council grant the Trustees
request to appear before the
Council at its August 3
meeting.
No. 32'1. 1: SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 328
STREAMLINING PERMIT APPROVAL PROCESS (C-321/PC-11)
From Planning Director Sidney Fuke dated June 28,
1977, informing that they are in the process of
streamlining their permit approval process and that
an ordinance designating the County' s Central
Coordinating Agency, as required by SB 122
S .D. 2, should be forthcoming shortly.

426: HAWAIIAN AIRLINES ' APPLICATION FOR THE GUARANTEE OF
FINANCING OF NEW EQUIPMENT - U. S . DEPARTMENT OF
'-' AGRICULTURE
From John J. Higgins , Executive Vice President,
Hawaiian Airlines , dated June 28, 1977, requesting
Council' s submission of a letter to the -Farmers
Home Administration supporting Hawaiian' s application
to the U. S . Department of Agriculture for a loan
guarantee of financing new equipment.
Recommend the following:
( 1) Council adopt a resolution
supporting Hawaiian Airlines '
application to the U. S .
Department of Agriculture; and
( 2) Council inform Hawaiian Airlines
that in supporting their loan
application for additional air-
craft "which will be used to
contribute to the development of
agriculture, business and industry
which will create jobs in rural
areas with populations of less
than 50, 000 " that the Hawaii
County Council anticipates the
return of adequate flight service
to Kamuela, one of the rural farm
areas on the Big Is land dependent
upon air transportation to ship
its produce, as part of Hawaiian's
continuing contributions towards
economic development of the outer
islands and the State of Hawaii.

RESOLUTION
1 No. 60 : RULES AND REGULATIONS OF STATE LAND USE COMMISSION
AND COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT
Urges the State Land Use Commission and the County
Department of Planning to relax the rules and
regulations so that meat processing plants can be
established in the Kohala area.
