reasons for resigning from the Kailua Village Special
District & Urban Design Review Commission; pursuant to
the requirements of the County Charter, recommends
concurrence in accepting his resignation.

No. 800 : ' CONSTRUCTION OF 36 UNITS OF ELDERLY HOUSING IN THE CITY
OF HILO
Copy of letter to William Thompson, Chairman and Member,
Board of Land and Natural Resources , from Richard Schenck,
President, Big Island Housing Foundation, dated April 27,
1978, requesting favorable consideration in making the
+6-acre site at the end of Kamana Street and adjacent to
the Hilo Senior Center, available to the Big Island Housing
Foundation on a 55-year lease at nominal rent, for the
purpose of constructing and operating a low-rent elderly
housing project. Also requests an immediate right-of-
entry to the site for planning purposes upon approval of
the lease request by the Board to enable the Foundation
to respond to the HUD advertisement that $1 ,470 , 000 is
available under HUD Section 202 program funds to construct
36 units of elderly housing in the City of Hilo.
