Comm. 1187: STATE "208" PLAN - AREAWIDE WATER QUALITY MANAGEMENT
(Res. 451 ) PLAN FOR HAWAII
From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated May 10, 1979,
informing, in compliance with the Federal Water
Pollution Act of 1972 (PL 92-500) , the State Department
• of Health, in conjunction with the various counties,
developed an Areawide Water Quality Management Plan
for Hawaii which was recently approved by the
Environmental Protection Agency contingent on evidence
of County Council sanction of the proposal; accordingly,
requests that the Council formally approve the "208"
document for the County of Hawaii by the adoption of
Resolution 451;
recommends Council adopt Resolution 451 formally adopting the County
of Hawaii ' s ' 208' Plan, an Areawide Water Quality Management Plan.
