The following are the recommendations of the Committee on Public Works
which were considered at its meeting of February 23 , 1977:
COMMUNICATIONS :
No. 128: AHUALANI SUBDIVISION UNIT II WAIAKEA SOUTH HILO
From Corporation Counsel Clifford H. F. Lum, dated
January 31, 1977 transmitting for acceptance, the
dedication deed for roadway within the ,Ahual ani
Subdivision. Advises the description of the roadway
has been checked and found to be acceptable for
dedication by the Department of Public Works; also
that the roadway has, been constructed according to
County standards.
Accept roadway dedication deed.
/No. 143 : NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING - HELCO
From Chief Clerk Bertha F. Kurosawa dated February 2, 1977
submitting Public Utilities Commission' s "Notice of
Public Hearing" regarding application of Hawaii Electric
Light Company, Inc. for approval of rate increases and
revised schedules.
From Deputy Corporation Counsel Earl T. Nakasato dated
(Res. 28) February 7, 1977 submitting for consideration and
adoption 'a resolution expressing Council ' s concern
on HELCO' s application for rate increases.
Approve and recommend adoption
of Resolution 28.
No. 164: DEDICATION DEED - AKAMINE SUBDIVISION WAIAKEA HOMESTEADS,
SOUTH HILO
From Assistant Corporation Counsel Stephen G. Bess dated
January 31, 1977, transmitting for acceptance the Deed
of Easement and Road Dedication Deed for the subject
subdivision. Advises the descriptions have been checked
and .found to be acceptable for dedication by the
Department of Public Works; also that the roadway has
been constructed according to County standards.

ORDINANCES
Bill No. 284: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT - ESTABLISHING BUS STOPS IN THE
DOWNTOWN AREA (C-67/PWC-3)
Amends Chapter 6 (Traffic Code) , Article 16, Section 4,
Hawaii County Code 1975 , by adding new bus stops.

on first reading.
Bill No. 285 : TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT - ESTABLISHING A BUS STOP ON
THE PUNA SIDE OF WAIANUENUE AVENUE (C-959 RTC-30)
Amends Chapter 6 (Traffic Code) , Article 16, Section 4,
Hawaii County Code 19 75 , as amended.
