The following are the recommendations of the Committee on Public Works
which were considered at its meeting of August 17, 1977
COMMUNICATIONS
No. 455 : KUAKINI HIGHWAY, TRUCK CLIMBING LANE - PROJECT NO. 11A-01-75 ,
KAUMALUMALU TO KEAUHOU
From Director of Transportation E. Alvey Wright, dated
July 15, 1977 requesting transfer of Parcel 7-A ( containing
an area of 4,164 square feet, TMK: 7-8-10, portion of
Kuakini Highway) to the State of Hawaii for the construction
of the subject project.
Pending execution of the Quitclaim Deed, requests that the
State be granted right-of-entry and possession of Parcel 7-A.

, , C- 455.1 : Copy of letter to Director of Transportation E. Alvey Wright
from Mayor Herbert T. Matayoshi dated August 3, 1977
informing the administration is willing to transfer Parcel 7-A
to the State of Hawaii and suggests two proposals, as
contained in his letter.
In the interim, pending the conveyance, the County grants the
State a right-of-entry and possession onto Parcel 7-A, subject
to the condition that the State shall indemnify the County to
the extent permitted by law against any liability for property
damage or fors_ injury or death of person or persons when such
damage ,or injury or death is caused by the State in the
exercise of the rights granted under this right-of-entry.
Concur with Mayor' s recommendations
as contained in C-455 .1.
ORDINANCE
Bill 325 : AMENDMENT TO IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT ORDINANCE
Amends Section 2, Article 1, Chapter 16, of the Hawaii County
Code, as amended, relating to improvements by assessments.
