Kawahara, dated April 13, 1977, submitting a petition urging the establishment of a shooting range in Kona. A , e _ No. 677 : AMENDMENT TO TRAFFIC CODE From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated January 31, 1978, requesting amendment to Chapter 6 (Traffic Code) , Schedule 12, Section 8B , Article 15 , to authorize a "No Parking" Zone for Koniako Place in Honokaa to allow safe and efficient traffic flow on this narrow 22-foot roadway. Approve request and refer to Corporation Counsel to prepare proper amendment. A No. 678 : AMENDMENT TO TRAFFIC CODE From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated January 31 , 1978, requesting amendment to Chapter 6 (Traffic Code) Schedule 5 , Article 8, Section 5 , to reduce the speed limit from the present unrestricted (55), speed limit to a 35 mph speed limit over that section of Waikoloa Road that contains the intersection with P aniol a Avenue and with the service road to the stables to enhance traffic safety at the intersections. Approve request and refer to Corporation Counsel to prepare proper amendment. �No. 684: WAIMEA-KAWAIHAE ROAD From Yasuo Kuwaye, President, Kuwaye Trucking Inc. , dated February 8, 1978, informing they would appreciate whatever the Council and administration can do to influence the Governor, the Department of Transportation and the Legislators of the urgency for the completion of the proposed Waimea-Kawaihae Road and the culvert embankment near the Spencer Park intersections. Receive and file. !II Ilk PWC-25 - 4 February 22, 1978 No. 688: ABANDONMENT RESOLUTION AND QUITCLAIM DEED FOR A PORTION (Res. 226) OF THE OLD MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY, WAIPUNALEI, NORTH HILO From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated February 7, 1978, transmitting for acceptance, the quitclaim deed and an abandonment resolution for the subject highway. Advises the documents have been reviewed and approved by Corporation Counsel ' s office; also that the roadway is no longer needed for public purpose and is recommended for abandonment. Recommend adoption of Resolution 226 and grant authorization to Mayor to execute • quitclm deed. d_ No. 690 : DEDICATION DEED (ROADWAYS) KONA ACRES SUBDIVISION, UNITS 1 AND 2, KALAOA 5TH, NORTH KONA From Corporation. Counsel Stephen G. Bess, dated February 10 , 1978, transmitting for acceptance, the dedication deed for roadways within the Kona Acres Subdivision-?, Units 1 and 2. Advises the description of the roadway has been checked and found to be acceptable for dedic .tion by the Department of Public Works; also that the roadway has been constructed according to County standards. Accept roadways dedication deed. /LL-C _ No. 691: AMENDMENT TO TRAFFIC CODE From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated February 9 , 1978, requesting amendment to Chapter 6 (Traffic Code) Schedule 5 , Section 5 , Article 8, to authorize a 25-mile per hour speed limit for the roadway to the Pahoa Solid Waste Disposal System ( also known as Pahoa By Pass Road) .
