(PWC Chair to respond to Department of Health incorporating Committee' s concerns..) !II 0 PWC-33 - 3 - June 23, 1978 ,t C- No. 836: AMENDMENT TO TRAFFIC CODE - DESIGNATION OF KEALAKAA STREET AS A THROUGH STREET AND ESTABLISHMENT OF 25 MPH SPEED LIMIT From Chief Engineer Edward Harada, dated -Dune 9 , 1978, requesting that Kealakaa Street in Kona be designated as a through street from Palani Road to its terminus and that a 25-mile per hour speed limit be authorized for this street. This amendment will authorize the various stop controls on it and the 25 mile per hour speed limit is needed because of a school and playground adj agent to it. Approve request and refer to Corporation Counsel to prepare the proper amendment. mac_ No. 837: AMENDMENT TO TRAFFIC CODE - ESTABLISHMENT OF FREIGHT LOADING ZONE ON KILAUEA AVENUE, ADJACENT TO DRAGON INN RESTAURANT From Chief Engineer Edward Harada, dated June 9 , 1978 requesting amendment to Chapter , 6, (Traffic Code) Article 16, Section 2.D. , Schedule 14, Hawaii County Code, to establish a freight loading zone on Kilauea Avenue, adjacent to the Dragon Inn Restaurant to permit the loading/unloading of freight without interfering with- traffic flow. Approve request and refer to Corporation Counsel to prepare the .proper amendment. AAP, - No. 839 : DONATION OF LAND FOR ADDITION TO KAMEHAMEHA PARK, NORTH KOHALA, BY .KOHALA CORPORATION From Corporation Counsel Stephen G. Bess, dated June 15 , ,19':9 1978, transmitting for acceptance a deed conveying :_ ri.c i additional land for the County-owned Kamehameha Park in North Kohala. The Kohala Corporation is delivering said deed tothe County as a charitable contribution. It contains an areaof 10. 251 acres, reserving, however, an easement for road and utility purposes.
