Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred:
Comm. 849 : CLOSING OF STREETS FOR ALOHA WEEK PARADE -
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 1978 ..
From Councilman James L. K. Dahlberg dated
June 22, 1978 submitting for disposition,
a letter from Tita Beamer Solomon, Manager,
Aloha Week Festival 1978, requesting the
closing of certain streets in Hilo for the
Aloha Week Parade on September 16, 1978
and the use of the Hilo Civic Auditorium
grounds and dressing facilities for
assembling purposes.
recommends that the request of Tita Beamer Solomon, Manager
of Aloha Week Festival 1978, to close certain streets on
September 16 for the Aloha Week Parade be approved, provided
that Mrs. Solomon comply with the conditions required by the
Police Department.
As the Hilo Civic Auditorium will be in use that day, the
Committee recommends that permission be granted to use the
Walter Victor Baseball Complex facility and parking area for
dressing and assembling purposes.
