Your Committee on Public Works to which were referred :
Comm. 918: NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE
(Bill 421) From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated August 31,
1978 submitting for adoption, a bill for an
ordinance amending Chapter 11, Electrical Code of
the Hwaii County Code, relating to the 1978 edition
of the National Electrical Code, as amended . Informs
the significant revision involves permit issuances to
a homeowner and that the Code and amendments were
reviewed by the Electrical Code Review Committee,
which consists of contractors, architects, engineer,
,
material supplier and union representative .
, c_ Comm. 918.1: From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated October 5,
1978 requesting that Article 4, Section 6-A, of
Bill 421 be revised to enable a home owner to
obtain a electrical permit provided the work is
done by a person licensed under Chapter 448E, HRS .
This revision is requested based on the public 's
sentiments experienced during the adoption of the
Plumbing Code ;
recommends deletion of Section 6-A, Persons to Whom Permits May Be
Issued, Article 4, of proposed Bill 421, and insert in lieu thereof,
the revision submitted by the Chief Engineer.
Further recommends the Council approve and adopt Bill 421, as revied,
• on first reading.
