Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred:
A-c_ Comm. 1036 : 5TH ANNUAL BIG ISLAND MARATHON
From Lee Howard, President, Big Island Road
Runners, dated January 16., 1979_ requesting
approval to hold the 5th Annual Big Island -
Marathon on Sunday, July 1, 1979- from 6 : 00 a.m.
to 1:00 p.m. on the route as outlined on the
attached map. Informs , contingent upon
approval, they will consult with. the Departments
of Police, Public Works, and Parks & Recreation
concerning areas of cooperation and will
welcome their recommendations;
recommends Council approve the request of the Big Island Road Runners
to hold the 5th Annual Big Island Marathon on Sunday, July 1, 1979
from 6 : 00 a.m. to 1: 00 p.m. on the outlined route, provided that
the conditions required by the Police Department, Fire Department,
Hilo Hospital and Public Works Department are complied with.
