Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred;
Comm. 1130: ABANDONMENT RESOLUTION OF A PORTION OF OLD
(Res. 422) MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY, HONOKAA, HAMAKUA
From Chief Engineer Edward Harada, dated
April 23, 1979 transmitting for adoption
a abandonment resolution for the subject
road which has been reviewed and approved
by the Corporation Counsel' s office. Informs
the portion of the roadway being abandoned
is no longer needed for road purpose and is
recommended for abandonment. Further informs
upon abandonment of the roadway and consummation
of land exchange between the State of Hawaii
and Honokaa Sugar Company for the existing New
Honokaa Playground, the abandoned roadway is
to be consolidated into the playground area
and made a part of the Playground parcel;
recommends the communication be placed on file; and approve and
adopt Resolution 422 abandoning a portion of the Old Mamalahoa
Highway in Honokaa to consolidate the road remnant into the
Honokaa Playground site.
