Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred:
Oce. Comm.. 1185: REDIRECTION OF TRAFFIC AROUND KALAKAUA PARK
From Paul Mark Clark, President, Hilo Community
Players, dated June 7, 1979 , informing this
summer they will be producing Shakespeare ' s
"The Tempest" in Kalakaua Park and requests the
following redirection of traffic from 7 :00 p.m.
to 10: 00 p.m. on July 19 , 20, 21 , 26, 27 , 28
and August 2 , 3, 4:
1) Closing Waianuenue Avenue between Keawe
and Kinoole.
2) Closing Kalakaua Street between Keawe
and Kinoole.
3) Limiting Hamakua-bound traffic on
Kinoole Street between Haili and Waianuenue
to one lane of traffic, mauka lane
preferred.
recommends Council approve the request of the Hilo Community Players
to redirect traffic as describedin the communication, provided
that the following conditions are complied with:
1. The Hilo Community Players effect
coordination and secure approval
of their plan to redirect traffic
from the Hawaii County Departments
of Public Works, Police and Fire;

2 . The Hilo Community Players coordinate
the dates and times of these traffic
detours with Hilo Hospital; and
3 . The Hilo Community Players be responsible
for the placement and removal of the
temporary control signs and devices .
