Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred:
4LL, Comm. 1464: FINANCIAL ANALYSIS: MASS TRANSPORTATIONAGENCY
From Barney B. Menor, .'Transit Coordinator, dated
January 22, 1980, transmitting a financial
analysis of the Mass Transportation Agency and
requests comments onthefollowing alternatives
to compensate their budget shortfall of $48, 687 :
1. Drop 848 hours monthly from the
schedule; or
2. Appropriate an additional $48 ,692
to the transit budget. A'portion
of that amount may be recovered
through ,a' fare increase;
recommends Council concur with administration' s :proposal to delete from
the monthly bus schedule, those routes that are the least productive with
the exception of: the Kau and Pahoa: routes as deletion of the routes will
leave those areas with minimal or no public bus service.
Further recommends referral of the funding request of $20,271 to maintain
the two routes to the Finance Committee for favorable consideration.
