Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred:
Comm. 1494 : KEIKI PARADE "WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD"
From Mardene Masuda, Chairperson, Week of the
Young Child, dated March 18, 1980 informing the
Hawaii Association for the Education of Young
Children and the YWCA are co-sponsoring the
annual event, "Week of the Young Child, " from
April 13-1.9 and requests closing off the portion
of Ululani Street from the Haili Street intersection
to the dead end fronting YWCA allowing local traffic
only on Saturday, April 19 , from. 8 a..m. to 12 noon
to allow a fire truck, police car and animal
shelter van to be on exhibit for the children.
Also requests "No Parking" signs be posted the
evening before to prevent cars from securing
required_ parking space for the display vehicles
in the area fronting YWCA;
recommends Council approve the request of the Hawaii Association for the
Education of the Young Children and the YWCA to close the portion of
Ululani Street from the Haili Street intersection to the dead end
fronting YWCA on April 19, 1980 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon for the Keiki
Parade exhibit, provided that the conditions required by thee -Police
Department, Fire Department, Hilo Hospital and Public Works Department
are complied with.
Further recommends the co-sponsors coordinate the posting of "No Parking"
signs with the Public Works Department.
