Approves a grant of $48,850 to Na Mamo O Kdwd to protect, preserve, and restore
the Kdwd properties (Tax Map Keys: 9-5-016:006 and 025; and 9-5-017:005 and 007),
pursuant to Section 10-16 of the Hawai `i County Charter.

OF THE MASS TRANSIT AGENCY IN FISCAL YEAR 2017-2018
Requests the Office of the Legislative Auditor to include in its audit plan for fiscal
year 2017-2018 an audit of the Mass Transit Agency's cash handling system, and that
such an audit shall not be initiated until after a permanent administrator for the
agency has been employed.

Res. 219-17: AUTHORIZES THE HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL THE OPTION TO
DESIGNATE A PORTION OF THE COUNTY'S FUEL TAX ALLOCATION
TO BE UTILIZED FOR A GRANT-IN-AID PROGRAM FOR NONPROFIT
HOMEOWNER AND ROAD MAINTENANCE CORPORATIONS OR
ASSOCIATIONS FOR THE PURPOSE OF ROAD REPAIR AND
MAINTENANCE FOR PRIVATE STREETS AND ROADWAYS THAT SERVE
AS MAIN THOROUGHFARES REGULARLY USED BY THE PUBLIC
Provides that State law allows for fuel tax monies to be used for improvements, repair
and maintenance of certain private roadways; and would authorize the Council to
establish a fuel tax grant-in-aid program, and form an ad hoc committee of its
membership to create rules and procedures for the program; set forth the process,
general criteria and qualifications for applicants; and oversee the awarding of grant
applications.

Submitting Written Testimony: Those submitting written testimony at the meeting should bring

Submitting Video Testimony: Those submitting video testimony may email a complete web address
(url) to videotestimonyghawaiicounty_.gov before 12:00 noon on the business day prior to the
meeting. The email shall indicate the appropriate Committee or Council meeting, the meeting date,
agenda item (communication, bill, resolution, or report number), and number of testifiers on the video
submittal. Each video submittal shall be limited to a single agenda item. Video submittals may
contain up to three individual testifiers and shall each be up to three minutes in length. Video
testimony will not be played during the meeting; however, it will be distributed to Council Members
prior to the meeting. The Office of the County Clerk reserves the right to refuse testimony containing
inappropriate content or that is not in compliance with Council Rule 13 (Public Statements and
